Our Story
We believe strong communities are built when people feel connected, represented, supported, and empowered to contribute. MSH BRIDGE creates opportunities for Black residents, families, neighbors, community leaders, businesses, schools, and organizations to build relationships, share experiences, celebrate culture, and work together toward a stronger community.

Why MSH BRIDGE Exists
Community is more than living in the same place.
It is knowing your neighbors.
It is seeing your culture represented.
It is creating opportunities for children and families.
It is sharing knowledge and resources.
It is supporting one another.
And it is creating spaces where people can learn, serve, celebrate, and grow together.
MSH BRIDGE exists to help make those connections stronger.
We provide opportunities for residents to gather, build relationships, share experiences, participate in meaningful programs, and contribute to the community we all share
What We Do
Our work is organized around four areas:

Culture — Celebrate Black culture, history, traditions, creativity, and the experiences of families within our community.

Education — Create opportunities for children, adults, and families to learn, develop new skills, and access valuable information and resources.

Service — Mobilize residents to support neighbors, local organizations, schools, and community initiatives through meaningful service.

Partnership — Work with schools, businesses, nonprofits, civic organizations, and community leaders to create programs and opportunities that strengthen Millburn-Short Hills.

Connecting Generations
MSH BRIDGE is intentionally intergenerational.
Children, teenagers, parents, professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and seniors all bring something valuable to the community.
Our programs and events are designed to create opportunities for generations to learn from one another, build relationships, and share experiences.
That may happen through a financial literacy workshop, robotics program, cultural celebration, youth activity, family outing, community service project, professional networking event, or simply an opportunity for neighbors to spend time together.
Each experience strengthens the connections that make a community feel like home.
Celebrating the Black Community
MSH BRIDGE creates intentional space to celebrate the experiences, accomplishments, culture, and contributions of Black residents in Millburn and Short Hills.
Representation matters.
Connection matters.
Community matters.
We want residents and families to see themselves reflected in the programs, conversations, celebrations, and relationships that shape our community.
At the same time, our work is designed to contribute positively to the entire Millburn-Short Hills community.
Our goal is not simply to build community within community.
Our goal is to build bridges across the community.
